Birds

Birds inspire and intrigue me for a number of reasons: the variety of species; the range of colours that are brilliant for display or dull in order to provide camouflage; the strength to fly long distances, sometimes so exhausted they literally fall out of the sky; the innate ability to fly at high speed in tight formations; the nesting and feeding habits that are so diverse. Endless hours tracking these beautiful creatures through forests up and down mountains, travelling through marshes, in sunny weather, freezing temperatures, rain, sleet, snow...is all worth it as I endeavour to find a certain bird and capture the perfect moment of behaviour or a classic pose. Here are some of my favourite successes. Please enjoy.
